About us

Hi, my name is Tasmin and I’m the founder of Sugargeeks! I started watching anime when I was a child, rushing home after school to turn on the TV to the theme of Dragon Ball.

I started baking cakes around six years ago, and needless to say, it has been a real learning experience! I’ve always enjoyed experimenting with fondant and trying to bring another dimension to cakes. I’ve also enjoyed attempting to make cakes that were anime themed. Below, you can see some of my earliest work – from 2016 – 2021

And so, Sugargeeks was born!

After a lot of planning and preparation, we started taking orders in March 2023 and since then we’ve been crafting orders for people who love anime and it’s been an incredible opportunity. We also attend exhibitions and expos, the first one we ever went to was the Malta Statue and Collector’s Exhibition pictured below. I was very happy and excited and made a life-sized pikachu cake for the occasion, which was later shared with Expo visitors and friends. Our first huge success!

We bake everything from scratch and hold a food handling license B, which is valid for 5 years.

So join us, while we continue on our journey exploring Creative Cake ideas and create cringe cake Photoshop experiments.

We closed off the year with two huge successes, Comic-Con and Play-Con.

So, our first year 2023 was a total blast and I’m so grateful to all my customers and my team, my sister and my husband – who stood with me through it all. Costumes and all.
